NYCDA 2017 Results & Recap

This past weekend a handful of Performing Company Members from CVDA Newberg attended New York City Dance Alliance in Vancouver, WA.

Friday started off with our two mini soloists. They each performed their jazz solos, earned Golds, and won an Outstanding Smile Award!

Next up we had our senior soloists. These girls were beautiful, strong, and confident. Camille earned a platinum, Bridget a platinum and 5th Overall Highest Scoring Senior Solo, Jenna earned a gold, and Hailey earned a High Gold.

Our final competition dance was the duo of Jenna and Camille. These two work so hard and they were strong and fierce on stage. They earned a High Gold.

Saturday started off early at 7:30am and the girls worked hard through classes.

Sunday was early too! And audition day! We had some finalists!

Vada was a Outstanding Dancer Finalist!  Goal met!

AND the winners are!

Jenna received the Triple Threat Scholarship for being amazing in Tap, Ballet, and Jazz! WOOORRRKKKKK Jenny!

Bridget earned a Ballet Scholarship AND was a runner up for Outstanding Senior Dancer! HUGE accomplishment!!!

OH – I almost forgot to mention that I LOVED seeing all of my fellow dance studio owners and teachers.

AND LAST, but certainly not least, we were awarded the Making A Difference Scholarship for raising the most money for the NYCDA Foundation.

Overall, we had a fabulous time at NYCDA.  It was a great, positive, and successful kick-off to our convention and competition season.
